Jul 2024:
- 11 Jul - Monthly American Legion Post 229 Meeting: No Auxiliary meeting today; Post 229 Meeting will be held at 1900 (7:00 PM) at Black Patch Distilling Co., 500 Lanier Dr. Suite C3, Madison. (Cdr. Vannoy may bring a few snacks for before the meeting.) A budget review may be on the agenda.
- New Post 229's Summer 2024 Fund Raising event by Texas Roadhouse. Post 229 is taking orders for precooked pork ribs to be prepared by Texas Roadhouse (Corner of Jeff Road and Univesity Blvd). The full rack of ribs are well cooked and from experience, the meat easily comes off the bone! Order comes with barbeque sauce. The price for each rib order is $20. Post 229 will receive $8.00 for every order, and anyone can order these ribs to benefit Post 229! Orders must be paid upfront by cash, e,g., at the upcoming Monthly meeting on 11 July or by clicking the link below or via a QR code in a text sent to members by Cdr. Vannoy. All orders must be placed no later than 1700 on 12 July. Your prepaid order(s) will be available for individual pickup at the Texas Roadhouse pick-up window between 11:00 and 16:00 on Saturday, 20 July 2024. 15 Jul - Game Night at Floyd E. Tut Fann home: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

- 25 Jul - Monthly Open Veterans' Breakfast at Little Libby's Catfish at 234 Lime Quarry Rd., Madison, AL - starts at 08:30 A.M.

Aug 2024:
- 5 Aug - Post 229 hosts a free Monthly Coffee and Donuts at the Veteran Administration Clinic, 08:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M., located on Markaview Road Northwest, Huntsville. - Post 229 members and volunteers are invited to visit for an hour or so to greet veterans attending their appointments.
- 24-25 Aug - Veteran's Retreat (Free) at Lake Guntersville, Camp Trico. See attached event pictures:
- New: The monthly veteran breakfast, previously held at the LIttle Libby's Catfish Diner, will now be held at 0830 at the IHOP located at 8622 Hwy 72 W, in Madison, AL (near Wal Mart, Firestone, and a Burger King, every 4th Tuesday of the month normally.

- 11 Sep - News Flash • The City of Madison invites the community to an (madisonal.gov) Madison City is holding a 9/11 event at Trash Panda Stadium - free and begins at 0800.

- 18 Sep - Armed Forces Birthday and US Air Force Birthday
- 19 Sep - Veterans Social at Monark Grove: Thursday, September 19, 1:30 pm. Meet in the Pub.
- 21 Sep - Trail Of Tears' Thirty-First Anniversary of the Annual Motorcycle Rally event. Post 229 volunteers will support the event by helping to sell Trail-of-Tears T-shirts and other memorabilia at the Redstone Harley-Davidson dealership at 15100 Highway 20, W. Madison, AL. Post 229 will meet 0800-1 P.M. to set up tents and banners before the racers arrive around 1000-1100 typically and continue till the event is over. 14 Members volunteered. Thanks.
- 23 Sep - Game Night with Tut Fann: Monday, September 23, 6:00-8:00 pm.
- 23 Sep - Work Details: Build shelving in back of Conex; move Christmas Wreath Tubs off of Parade Trailer into Conex shelves. Remove half of metal chairs to donate to VFW Post 2701 in Huntsville.
- 24 Sep - Monthly Veterans Breakfast: Tuesday, September 24, 8:30 am., at IHOP 8622 Hwy 72W, Madison.
- 29 Sep - Gold Star Mothers and Family Day.
